Packhorse Cottage is a beautiful Lakeland cottage set in the stunning vale of Lorton near Cockermouth and Buttermere. The cottage sleeps 5 in two doubles and a single bedroom, and can accommodate more in downstairs rooms if required. With a well equipped kitchen, an elegant sitting room with TV and wifi, a cosy snug, and a lovely garden with green slate furniture, you have everything you need for a perfect holiday away from it all.
Situated immediately adjacent to Winder Hall’s main drive, it only takes a couple of minutes to reach the hot tub, sauna, restaurant and pretty grounds, making it an ideal location for your holiday get-away.
With Packhorse Cottage, guests have the best of both worlds: a fully-equipped hide-away cottage for you to do your own thing plus all the amenities of a five star guest house and restaurant on your door-step. As a further alternative, The Wheatsheaf Inn is a stones-throw in the other direction.
Before you arrive, we make sure the cottage is spotlessly clean, and leave you a welcome pack in the kitchen including tea, herbal tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk in the fridge, bread, six free-range eggs from our own hens and Winder Hall Country House traybakes.
